Re: GPSmap 76CSx

The Etrex 30 can record daily. For the current day the tracks are in current.gpx For older tracks they will be under Archive and will have the dates they were recorded. Not sure if they can float but they are waterproofed against showers. I have other GPSes claimed to be floatable but I have not be...

Re: GPSmap 76CSx

I have used an Etrex 30 for some time now and am very happy with the accuracy of being able to use also the Russian Glonass satellites (24 satellites instead of just the 12 GPS satellites. the etrex 30 sounds very interesting. I suppose I can live without floating ability (or I can find some kind o...

Re: how to check which JCV file maps to which IMG file?

Hi, yes it is a Thai-bought GPS, so JCV will display. The problem with the "remove one and try" method is it involves driving around and I am not currently in Thailand haha I loaded up the .IMG file in a hex editor to see if any filename is referenced but could not find anything (I'm not that good w...

did you have any "jumpiness" problems with your 2465?

I think I prefer the smaller screen, the 5" screen a bit too big

Re: GPSmap 76CSx

Sigh, I was on a long trip where I was counting on my daily tracklog (saved to mSD card) as a record, but for 2 days I don't have a record because the system powered off halfway (I noticed this subsequently and turned it back on, but somehow the self-powering off (bad batteries?) messed up the track...

Re: The Nuvi 2465

would like to ask all forummers who have the 2465 - after owning it for some time, are you still happy with it? i know someone who has a Thai 2465 (uses in Thailand) who does not like it because he says it is very "jittery" compared to his cheaper nuvi 40 which is more "stable". often cannot make up...

how to check which JCV file maps to which IMG file?

Hi, I have a Thai nuvi - there's 2 maps on it, one Thai one English. I don't read Thai so I want to remove the Thai files :-) I've found and renamed the Thai map (.IMG) file, and am going to delete it completely. But in the JCV folder there are two .JCV files of the same size and no clue in the file...
