I think mainly bcos if you turn off and turn on at the same location (Open area), your GPS will be able to acquire satellites signal within 30 sec. But if you are in the multi storey carpark or turn off half-way to the last destination, yr GPS will required more time (~5 min) to acquire statellites ...
