Re: Handheld gps use as automotive gps

Actually, Bro Satellite, the Nuvi 5000 lets me load a route I have planned using Mapsource. The Nuvi 5000 also lets me save tracks. (However, I use the Vista HCx for tracking.) I don't know what other Nuvi models allow those functions, though. The comparison table at the Garmin website i...

Re: Handheld gps use as automotive gps

I'm a user of 60CSx and Nuvi 300. If you've read my road trip threads, the 60CSx beats the nuvi series in versatility. The only disadvantage of 60CSx is the small screen size and no touch screen. Please note that this disadvantage is not critical. Every device we get has its strength and weaknesses....

Re: Great Singapore F1 : 30,000 Grandstand 59,998 Cameras

MR CHIA KEE TONG : 'Most Singaporeans will, I am sure, be deeply insulted by him calling our event a 'circus'. But let's consider his comments dispassionately: If the Singapore track was a circus, the Ferrari team members were the clowns . I never had a good laugh watching F1 on TV. All thanks to F...

Re: Great Singapore F1 : 30,000 Grandstand 59,998 Cameras

In fast pace races like F1 or rally motorsports, GPS devices sux big time!

A hardcopy of map in the hands of a reliable co-driver or pit crew (if needed at all) reading out pacenotes is far more efficient.

Re: KL & Malacca: Here I Come!

Just some casual shots with my P&S camera. Did not bring along my gear. However, I did nailed some classic Genting pics of my BH and I with foggy backdrop.

Re: KL & Malacca: Here I Come!

Hi bro cruiser

My BH knows nothing about maps or GPS. Her job is to watch DVDs, eat and sleep during the journey. #-o

I am lucky not to be leading a convoy that time or else it will be a big mess! :-'

Anyway, I managed to go home safely - that's more important.

Re: KL & Malacca: Here I Come!

Hi all Here is my trip report: Spore --> Genting Skyway --> Genting Highlands --> Kl --> Malacca Day 1 For my trip, I set off at 5am and crossed the Woodlands causeway by 6am. The sky is still dark when I hit the NSH from JB. Nonetheless, it is a good experience driving on pitch dark roads - I never...

Re: KL & Malacca: Here I Come!

When I drive up Genting. My 60CSx and Nuvi keep prompting "recalculating" - damn bloody annoying! :finga:

This is the 2nd time it happened. I thought this can be resolved with the newer maps but it wasn't. I am not sure what's wrong. :-k

Re: 2008 JUL Nikon D700 official launch @ Hortpark, Singapore

Awesome piece of light box! My D70 is reaching retirement age. It's time to replace it with D700. That's adding one zero behind the model number and minus one zero in my POSB blue little booklet.
