Re: Bikers fall in here...

barnes - you clearly feel doing a SS1000 is a waste of time. Although I respect your opinion, I am interested to hear of any suggested routes, or anyone wishes to join, not have someone tell me how to ride or where.

National Day Ride to Lake Kenyir

Day 1: Gelang Patah -> Cherating via Mersing (456km) Went further up the NS-Highway to avoid the coastal route to Mersing and took Jalan Mersing instead, which is a very nice road - excellent surface, no traffic and winds through forest and plantations. We stopped in Kuantan town for fuel which was ...

Re: Download & use Mapsource for your error reporting

Yes I had tried all the standard methods of install discussed on malsingmaps and got stuck with the same problems. Given the number of posts on these errors, they seem to be quite common. My old XP machine was very simple to set up though, hence my suspicions about some Vista-specific issue.

Re: Download & use Mapsource for your error reporting

I have now got Mapsource working successfully, after many very frustrating hours dealing with error messages already mentioned in previous posts in this thread (please re-install etc etc). After completely removing all Garmin software from my pc (actually the whole pc failed thanks to Vista and I ha...

Re: Download & use Mapsource for your error reporting

I cannot get ANY garmin software (mapsource, training centre, City Navigator NT etc) software to run on my Vista laptop. Installs seem to go ok, but on running any of the programs, I get either "Problem with registry" or "Problem with install" messages pop up. Very frustrated! Any suggestions? There...

Re: Ride through Eastern Thai/boarder Loas (Vientiane)/Combodie

I'm riding up from SG to Cambodia via Pattaya in a group of 8, we may cross paths in Siem Reap as we are there on the same day, but we're leaving on 7th only. I just bought a Zumo 550 yesterday and busy trying to get it all set up now. Judging by the daily distances (Hatyai to Chiang Mai in 1 day!) ...
