Re: The Garmin Montana

I do that with my Nuvi. Got one from DealExtreme which uses rechargeable 18650 batteries. The GPS running while tethered. Not for the Montana though which immediately shut-down and goes into charging mode. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/white-light-led-flashlight-emergency-usb-charger-with-cell-phone-...

Re: Erratic tracking 60csx

60csx behavior under tree covers has always been erratic. No big deal if you increase logging frequency. I would delete out the outliers in Basecamp.

Re: How to stop unsolicited SMSes?

I called up Infocomm which Telecos are supposed to report to. The reply I got is unbelievable. To translate from their doublespeak a) Spam SMS is like junk mail, you don't have to read it. b) Other people do not mind spam, we shouldn't deprive them from enjoying it c) The spam act is just a guidelin...

Re: Just some noob Ques.

Perhaps you can take a screen dump or a picture. Reminds me of a joke this lady was asking for a 710. Puzzled she show the mechanic where it is at. Turn out to be the oil cap with the word "OIL". Hi thanks for showing me the first website, but it didnt mention anything about 48N UG... what does UG m...

Re: Garmin Mobile XT - Part 2

Just to let everyone know that thanks to information available in MSM plus all the tips from the internet, I managed to get my E71 to run Garmin Mobile XT. Now I have voice navigation on a little mobile phone. Passed by Nokia outlet at Parkway Parade yesterday and couldn't resist their offer of thei...

Re: Vpost refused to ship my Garmin

On the latest news, it appears Vpost have relented. But I need to write an email to them telling them no batteries are included. Decided to send them an indemnity letter complete with scanned IC and witnesses signature. I had to, the Oregon costs me $500+ before GST. If Vpost really ban GPS and refu...

Re: Vpost refused to ship my Garmin

Garmin Oregons do not use li-ion batteries but your usual alkaline and nimh AA. I don't think Garmin include them either. Any recent purchasers like to confirm? If yes, I can instruct Vpost to throw away the batteries. My friend told Vpost to ship his flashlight without batteries after Vpost did not...

Re: Vpost refused to ship my Garmin

The Oregon 450. I checked their website, there is nothing in their prohibited list that remotely affect GPS unless Garmin is silly enough to pack 2 complimentary AAs. https://www.vpost.com.sg/vpost/welcome.jsp?page=shipping_prohibitedItems.html&option=0&lnav=shipping_sidenav_ws.html What have you br...
