Re: Maps are slow sometines??

Ok, I guess I can understand that map file size makes a difference, but can that really be the whole truth? My malsing maps is around 20-40 mb in size and slow sometimes, even on fast SD cards. Could it be that the MalSing map is slower than Garmin maps? But then again , my swedish map on the SD car...

Maps are slow sometines? [Slow screen refresh]

I have a Garmin Nuvi 255wt. Sometimes when I use my fingertip to browse back and forth in a map or zoom in/out in maps, the response is very quick, but sometimes it is very slow. It can take 3-10 seconds to get the image. I have changed nothing between these tests. What can make a map this slow? Tha...

The Nuvi 255

In my nuvi255, I have the Garmin Europe 2009 map. On the SD card, I have used gmaptool to combine Malsingmaps and a Swedish product called 'Friluftskartan' (meaning outdoor map). My question is, how can I choose which one to use at any time? Is it by using the tickboxes for each map in the settings?...

Got a new Nuvi 255wt - should I register at mygarmin.com?

Hi all,

I will play around with malsing maps and other maps and stuff.
Should I register at mygarmin or will that somehow destroy my possibilities?
Will the registration give me problems if I update the maps some other/external way?

Thanks.

Re: For Summer Holiday June 2009 - East or West Coast Malaysia?

Thanks guys, great help! A follow-up question? I will most likely start by staying in Cherating for a week or so. From there , If I want to do an island trip for a few days, what islands meet the requirements? - Good resort - Calm, no hectic nightlife. - Good, easy, family reef snorkelling, not just...
