Re: eco route and junction view

I looked at your screenshots and the eco-routes all looked like the "shortest distance" route. Have you compared the eco-routes with shortest distance routes? Or maybe compare all three?

Re: The Nuvi 1250

goldenbear, add to what bart said, older Nuvis accept only certain map file names like gmapsupp.img. There should only be one file for the map, so I am not sure what you referred to "map image files". But as bart said, go to the correct sub-forum for your nuvi and I am sure you will find your answer...

Re: eco route and junction view

How does eco route work? Device chooses a route which it thinks will use the least fuel? Meaning more expressway (even if longer distance), less turns (even if longer distance and time) or shortest distance (even if longer time)?

Re: Garmin - General Discussion - Part 6

Comparing the 2 maps, obviously the MSM NT map is more detailed and up-to-date. Since it is better and also have JCV and LA, why bother using the Garmin CN map? Anyway, most people don't use the Garmin CN map at all since they have the MSM NT map. Currently, the traffic information feature works fu...

Re: The Nuvi 1250

I thought you can have free downloads of the MSM map but not the City Navigator map, which you have to purchase if you want updates.

Re: The Nuvi 1250

7) If we install the ERP gantry custom POI, can we actually set the nuvi to AVOID navigating on roads with erp gantries (AVOIDANCES settings)? You can try to tic the "TOLL avoidance" and see if it works. This is a question that is often asked and I would like to give my 2 cents' worth of opinion. I...

Re: Which phone has the best GPS receivability?

But, myself currently using Nokia N95 8gb, I find that it takes so long to locate me, around 5 minutes, and sometimes when navigating, it tracks too slow (e.g. after I turn right, there's a turn on left which is just around 50m after the first turn), the GPS told me right after I passed the turn). ...

Postal Code info found in which map?

I tried the new Nuvi 1xxx series and find that their postal code search is quite good. The database is quite complete. I could find almost all the postal codes I searched for, including my house, my neighbours etc. Does anyone know whether the postal code info in these devices is from the Garmin-MSM...

Re: The Nuvi 1350 SG/MY

So far have not heard of anyone facing the same problem of auto-shutdown when they passed those toll booths. Please refer to the earlier posts in this thread. http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=172592#p172592 I myself does not think it has anything to do with the toll booth. But I am...

Re: The Nuvi 1350 SG/MY

As far as I know, these two devices (GPS & SmartTag) using different type of communication system. 1. GPS reciever - Using L1 frequency with 1575.42 MHz for civillian (range depends on unit & accuracy required) 2. SmartTag - Using Infrared Unless the GPS unit got infrared reciever/transmitter, the ...
