I now mute my Nuvi and rely on pure visual indications while in Singapore but when overseas and on unfamiliar places, rely on a combo of audio / visual directions. Just puzzle, it the SD card can use on any Garmin unit, why can't we duplicate it? any special protection?

Purchasing the additional map from garmin is costly. Quote from PW that it cost $300-$400++ for the oversea maps :cry:
Anyone tried to purchase from oversea? will it be cheaper?

The "pre-load" map usually are loaded into the SD card when you purchase them. Just need to swap between the 2 countries SD card when you travel to US or Eup. :-k but it is mentioned that 660 comes with pre-loaded map in the 2mb internal memory.... sorry my mistake, not pre-loaded map. Well, lets say i purchase the 600 with an internal memory of 512mb. If i wish to bring over to countries like USA or Europe to use, the the interal memory is insufficient to pre-load the map which is big. So using big mb SD will also work? :-?
