Hi all,

After reading through this forum and picking up bits and pieces from each pages, i managed to get Garmin Que working on my Sony Ericsson Experia X1. Here are the steps below that hopefully will be helpful to other people reading through this forum and also if you can contribute based on your experience, that would be good too.

Sony Ericsson Experia X1

using GPSProxy 2.2c from http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... y_versions

Following the instructions to download and configure GPSProxy and Garmin Que.

Menu > Extension
GPS Provider: NMEA Input
Select “Configure”
GPS COM Port: COM4 (Internal GPS NMEA)
Output COM Port: COM2
Menu > Extension
Select “Garmin Protocol Output”
Select “Configure” button at the bottom of the screen
Application COM Port: COM2
Menu > Virtual COM Ports
Add COM2. You should see just one Com port here. If you see more than one, remove the extra.
Menu > Settings > Launch
Tick "Start Proxy Automatically on Launch" if you want GPSProxy to start automatically
Tick "Run External App after Proxy Startup" and specify Garmin Que if you want Que to starts up after GPSProxy is running.

Garmin Que Setting

Menu > Settings > Garmin Que > Interface
GPS Device: GPS 10 Bluetooth
Communications Port: GPSProxy Virtual COM Port on COM2
Import Maps from malsingmaps viewtopic.php?f=26&t=23

Download GM-MySin.exe and run it to extract gmapsupp.img and copy this file to the phone, inside the Garmin folder that is created when Que is installed. Refer to http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... lsing_maps for steps to refer to if it doesn't work. To install the basemap, go to http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... _in_Que.3F
Menu > Settings > Garmin Que > Interface
GPS Device: GPS 10 Bluetooth
Communications Port: GPSProxy Virtual COM Port on COM2

nice guide here. But i follow the procedures and i cant go to garmin que set up page. i.e, i dont have the menu icon to click.

hence i cant set up my garmin que.

I install GarminQueforPocketPCwithGPS10_290.exe already.

may i know what went wrong for my installation?

GSProxy installation is fine.

I have just upgraded my PDA phone from Dopod 818Pro to Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. I'm installing Garmin Mobile XT on the phone and it works fine.

Due to better resolution of the phone, I can see more map area on the display. However, this also results in everything to be displayed in a much smaller scale, including the vehicle icon and the directional guide arrow. The roads are also displayed much thinner.

Is there any way to make things bigger on the screen? Will choosing full instead of partial customisation help?

It's bundled with Wayfinder navigation software. But to be frank, I don't know how to use it. Looks like Garmin Mobile XT is much better.

Could somebody post the screen shoot of Garmin XT on Xperia landscape and portraint. I'm wonder how it look like. I think this phone is going to be my next phone. How much is it in M'sia.

Care to share the satelite lock on time, especially cold start without AGPS.

I am just wondering here. The Xperia OS is Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, so it should be able to run Garmin Mobile XT. Unless you specifically prefer Garmin Que.

Searching for the satelites and locking on on to them are quite fast (1-2minutes). Have yet to experience disconnection once locked in unless travelling through a tunnel. No complaints on the GPS function cos its the SIRF III chipset.

I am currently using mapking07 and so far its ok but once i was out of map range going to pulau carey and kuala selangor areas...dunno why?
