Just put it the Storage folder will do. Previously thought must out into Garmin folder or the System folder where the maps are kept...

Oh... Place the POI files into "My Storage\POI" folder, where "My Storage" is the 4GB memory.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Garmin-Asus M20 - Support 3D?

#34 Post by meekia » Sat May 22, 2010 11:32 pm

To all the Guru here, SOS pls!! [-o<

Have being playing with the M20 for a while and am getting more and more confuse...

2 quick questions pls:

I just updated the Maps but not sure which is newer? Currently there's 2 maps in the device, 2009.5B (think is CN Singapore/Malaysia NT v4.5) and 2010.20(P) (think is nüMaps Onetime™ City Navigator® Singapore/Malaysia, MalSing 2010.20)...

Are these the latest maps?

Or shld I use the MSM MYSGBN v4.26 (http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 34#p176534)? Just need to rename the gmapsupp.img to gmapprom1.img and replace the existing ones in \My Storage\System?

Next qtn is does it support 3D building view and JVC/Lane Assist?

Am actually confuse abt these 2.

3D Building view means I can see 3D building on the map? How to activate that in the M20? These are in the gmap3d.img file? Can I just download it and place inside the M20 \My Storage\Garmin folder?

For JVC/Lane Assist, I saw some unit (i.e. M10) showing a split screen with the right showing a realistic/3D image. How to get the M20 to show that? All I get is a 2D topview after I activate the "Turn Preview" option... I called up Garmin-Asus support and they told me it support 3D (but they really dun sound VERY convincing...all I can say is I'll have better luck getting advise fm MSM than fm tat bunch of pple.. :-. )

I got the M20 it was suppose to support 3D and is also smaller than the M10...but if it doesn't support 3D than I can bang Wall liao!

Yes, Malsing 2010.20is the latest.

Yes, its good to use MSM V4.26 as the 2010.20 does not show much POI and its based on V4.06. Yes, just rename the file name will do.

No, M20 does not support 3D Building View.

Am actually confuse abt these 2.

May be they are refering 3D navigation view but not building.

can try the A10. it's the best hardware that Garmin Asus produced. I mean it's integrated with the best GPS, you just need a powerful phone to run the software. There's a contest at http://www.facebook.com/garminasus.singapore to win the phone anw, just letting yall know.
