report update:

I finally got my HTC touch at M1 at SGD$298 (after trading in my Nokia 6280 for $100).
I used it feverishly in the last 4 days making long calls everywhere (including in fast moving calls for about 15 minute lengths). I tell you man.... I love this phone. Sound quality good ! Have not hung up on my yet (unlike my old O2 IIm smartphone). Beautiful talking piece and showoff piece.....

I loaded in GMXT yesterday (without 10x becos I sold it oredi). Played with it in simulation mode.... Also beautiful....... but don't know if there will be a lag problem.. Anyway, I only look at the map as reference only .. and play play only..............

Cheers !!!
Welcome to the touch club
Yesterday I saw the Wasabi green color at Comex.
No lag (in my opinion).
So now you might go buy another 10X :hair:

For those who are willing to try, the HTC touch can be overclock. I've overclock mine to 286 MHz (default is 200) for the past 2 months without any issue.

Juz search for a software called BatteryStatus.

HTC seems to be the new star among phone manufacturers.

I'm drooling over the HTC Shift. It's rated the best UMPC as of now.
Think what it will look like in GPS mode on dashboard of car =P~

On one hand, some members here think that HTC is good and on the other some says sucks. 2 of my friends bought the phone and complaint that the phone don't respond on recovery. Meaning when at the lift, signal lost. When out of lift, it never recovery till you do a phone off and on back again thru the Comm Manager. The other experience the same, underground car-parks phone signal out and the phone never get calls till he view it and reset it.

I think it may something to do with StarHub but I am not sure if any SingTel or M1 users here experience any slight problems! Hope to hear from you guys here too.

I'm also a HTC Touch user with my Holux M1200 GPS Receiver, works great!

Hi,

I'm using Mapking with InTell GPS receiver on my HTC. Wonder if I download Garmin Que, will it render my InTell GPS useless as stated in the warning by Garmin?

Also, after I download Malsing maps from the forum link, the Mapking software can't detect the maps. What should I do?

Thanks.

HTC has just released new ROM for Touch yesterday (Ver 1.17.707.2B WWE) for black version (not for wasabi).

I've flashed it and it seems more responsive than before. Mapking navigation is also smoother.

Can go and download at HTC support side.

Cheers.

I tried to overwork my htc touch since day 1. yak yak yak while o the road collecting tracklogs with gpsproxy at the same time. GMXT response time good. also loaded google map to play. no hang at all. only poked the butt to reset a few times becos low on memory.

Not once did I take out the battery to reset, unlike my O2 IIm smartphone.
I am using the wifi & internet explorer to surf a lot.....

I'll try flashing the code soon. thanks for the lead....
