Tools / Settings / system / remote GPS / if disable just enable it.

Hi :welcome: to MSM, Pls read my "Welcome Message". You'll find some links there.[/quote]

Hi, I read thru the DIY Garmin Mobile XT for HP, PDA and Palm topic..but still quite unsure, is the GMXT free for dowload or have to purchase? Is this the only software required for the Touch HD to work? Or still need GNXT Free Basemap and GMXT Support Files? And what is Que? Sorry for all the questions, first time doing all these.

If you use Original licensed copy GMXT in SD card format, you can use the built-in GPS receiver
If you want to use a free copy of the software, then you cannot use the built-in receiver. In this
case you need to buy a Garmin 10X BT GPSr and pair it to your HTC.

You still need the basemap if you want to run Garmin.

thank you all for the response..in this case, most prob will buy the GMXT or MapKing 2007 so that do not need to pair to my phone...1 more question, if I buy the GMXT or Mapking 2007 and use it on my Touch HD, in future if i change phone, can i use it in my new phone?

I don't know about Mapking but I believe if your new phone has an expansion slot and takes the SD/mSD, I think you
can use back the same card.

If you purchase GMXT on Garmin SD card, you will be able to use it in most smart phones (WM, Symbian, UIQ) that has an in-built GPSr.

thks..this lead to another question, so the purchase of the GMXT is on a SD card which i guess it cannot be extracted to the phone or another card right? And I am using HTC Touch HD which do not have a internal HDD thus all my data are stored in a 8GB card. Then I have to use the GMXT card and not my own 8GB card? Unless I keep swapping the 2 cards?

You are correct. The GMXT SD card is "locked" and cannot be transferred to another SD card.

Joe, do you mind consolidating all your questions to one topic seeing they are about the same subject?
Very tiring playing hide and seek with you.

Ok ...

You don't have a SD card slot? then read this:
