#1 Post by qu3vax » Fri Oct 12, 2007 12:02 pm

i using mapking 2007. but the refresh rate kinda slow...10-30sec per frame... after i turned into corner pass the traffic light. it still havent update my location..zzzzzzzzzz. my fren's d810 using mapking 2007 and mapsingmaps like me also not like this. his refresh rate is like 1 sec update once.

Split from HTC TyTN II and Garmin QUE.

Problems on HTC Tytn II GPS

#2 Post by qu3vax » Fri Oct 12, 2007 12:12 pm

I am using HTC Tytn II, WM6 with mapking 2007 and R12 version with malsingmaps and also mapking map. The refresh rate of the navigation is so so so slow. The refresh rate is so slow, like 10-30 sec per frame. It's kinda frustrated when i turned into a corner and even past the traffic light, my location still remain the same. Is is problem caused by WM6 or map or mapking version? My fren using D810, wm5, mapking 2007 with malsingmaps doesnt have this problem, the refresh rate is like 1sec per frame. It also detect my driving speed precisely but not my tytn ii.

It may due to the gps setting. For NMEA protocol, it can be set to update at 1s, 2s, 5s, or slower. Perhaps the default setting is not a 1s rate. You have to use software like gps info, gpsproxy to check the NMEA protocol/sentence refresh rate.

My Dopod P100 (a humble machine) works fine on both Mapking and Garmin Que. Pesonally I so prefer Garmine Que. You need to give some details. What have you done so far in trying to install the program? Problems in installing or in operating? Make sure your bluetooth is set to OFF prior to installation.

I've downloaded the gpsproxy but i cant locate how to change the refresh rate. Can i use the program to view or change the refresh it? how?

No, the programs will just let you have a idea of the refresh rate. You'll need the right software that suit the gps chipset to change it. Better to get back to HTC.

For quick check in gpsproxy, in Menu-> Extensions->NMEA Input, configure, click log input. Goto Page-> Info, start gpsproxy look at the NMEA data. It should be coming in 1s block of data. Stop the gpspoxy and look for $GPRMC text. It should be present in every of the 1s block to make it a 1s refresh rate.
