Dell Axim x50v

Hi,
I have just written a Mort script that activate Bluetooth and Mobile XT on my Dell x50v without multiple manual intervention.

It works on a portrait mode.

However having some problem when running it in landscape mode as couldn't pin point the exact location for simulating a click. Anyone knows of any PPC utility that returns the pixel location on the PPC screen? I remember there is such utility but can't remember the name.

i have the software to show XY location value based on the PDA screen capture BUT NOT SURE whether it working with landscape mode.

To use this software..

1. u have to capture PDA screen using other software. Try to find capture software that can capture landscape
2. After u've saved the captured screen into JPEG or BMP, run OBSDesign.exe
3. On the menu "View", choose "Horizontal"
4. Right click on the yellow background in OBSDesign screen
5. select insert image, and select JPEG or BMP u have saved just now
6. On the menu "View", choose "MouseXY Mode"
7. You can get the XY location by pointing ur cursor to the image

Thanks but don't think it will work as x50v is VGA (640x480) screen and the pixel location will be different vs QVGA (320x240) or lower resolution.

Will need something that return location on the PDA itself.

After a few trial and error, managed to fine the location of the bluetooth in/off click.

Now I'm able to use a hardware button to start up bluetooth and Mobile XT without using the stylus, as well as the same button to toggle off the bluetooth. This will help me while driving and need navigation urgently.

Mort Script is a great tool. Anyone using X50v/51v and need the script let me know.

Anyone out there is curently using it to charge your axim PDA, can tell me where to get this because I already tried

Very difficult to find dell accessories around as it is considered as an obsolete product. i custom made it by cutting off the head of the power adapter(head that connect to axim) and connect it to a usb cable. Then use a 12V adapter to usb to charge the axim.

The 12v usb is the one that challenging, which you need 2000mA in order to be able to charge and use the Axim x50v at the same time.

However, if you managed to find the 12v adaptor with the above spec, then usb cable is something easy to get. The usb cable for Sony PSP comes with the same type of head that allows the connector adaptor to plug in.

I personally use Axim x51v, but my setup in the car is, 12v to 240v invertor, and the original Axim charger. It works wonderfully.

I managed to get an In car charger for the x50v in Singapore about 2 months ago. Don't know whether they still have it, have to dig out the web site name. If I can locate it will post.
