That could due to not enough internal memoery to run the software.

Try uninstall some software and do a hard reset.

Dun quite understand what you mean "cannot get the map on my PDA"??

PRO help needed- 818pro + gpsproxy + garmin Q

#4 Post by datuksri » Mon Dec 17, 2007 10:03 am

Any PRO pls help me.
Gpsproxy can detect 7-8 satellite but the garmin can detect only 2-3. Any explanation? and the garmin keep giving out message "lost satellite connection" even though it can connect to 2-3 satellites.

I suspect the problems is with the com port baud rate, and I've changed to a few combinations with no success.

BTW the problem is only happen when I tick tracklock recording. If untick it run smoothly.

Here is my unit and configurations:

DOPOD 818PRO
Garmin Que ver 2.9
gpsproxy 2.2c
BT qstarz BT-Q816

my gpsproxy 2.2c setting

gps comport: com7 57600
loginput: tick
mirror gps input to output port: untick
output comport: com6 57600
gps fix info: tracklog recording: tick
garmin protocol output: com8 57600
log garmin protocol: untick

helps are very much needed. I need to log the input to contribute to this forum.

Reception may be weak in your car due to tinted glass like V-cool. Solution is to have a external antenna.

I am facing the same problem even on the open space. I've tried it on the field, it is the same. this problem happened only with the tracklog recording. another thing is why gpsproxy can detect 7-8 satellite, but gqrmin que detect 2-3 only. Any explaination please.

if u can see the grid line that means u are off the mark. try to find malaysia (roughly E100, N3)
ask not (just) what malsingmaps can do for you
ask what you can do for malsingmaps (also)

PDA don't respond - Problem with PDA not GPS software

Cannot see map, only grid lines - the GPS software's current known location is likely Garmin USA, Europe or Taiwan. Since you don't have a map for that region, you see only grid lines. You need to zoom up (from space looking down at the earth) and then use the stylus to scroll left/right/up/down until you locate Singapore where you will see boxes indicating the map that you have. Then you zoom down to see the map details. If your PDA is connected to a GPSr and you are outdoors receiving signals from satellites, the GPS software will automatically move to your correct location.
