when i send maps from mapsource i got a gmapsupp.img in the garmin-folder but no detailed maps in Que. i can see the map under the tab "delete maps"...
any ideas??
by the way, everything seems fine with the gps-connection, no errors.. :-k
Are you sure the codes you used to unlock Bluechart corresponds to the GPS ID stated in Que (About Page)? Did you get any 'bleep' sound when starting Que?

Hi,

I just encountered the same problem. I am using an Axim X51v. I was planning a trip to KL, so I did some route checking on Sat. When I started up my PDA on Sunday the map was gone. The map is physically still in Garmin folder. When I check the map setup, the detailed map was at the Delete tab.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Slowwww point of interest search

#215 Post by sturmabeislung » Sat Jan 10, 2009 12:16 am

Im using GarminQue on a Ipaq 2790 PDA with a 624 MHz processor, 192 megs of flash ROM. But when searching a point of interest from the latest Malsingmap Maps Gold version, it takes forever if the location is a bit far. Some even need to wait till 5 min before it is found!! why?

HP IPAQ 4150 + TOMTOM wired GPS Device + HandyMap Ai Gold

#216 Post by nanji » Mon Jan 19, 2009 11:33 pm

Folks,

I had the above configuration and everything working fine with GPS proxy and malaysia malsing maps G10 format when I lost all software on my PDA due to not using it for months (LCD was broken). Trying to repair it myself now. Anyhow, after I repair it I will try to use handymap again on my pocket PC. I don't have the original setup for Handymap anymore coz of my hard disk failure and could not find the guy on a PDA forum whom I got it from. Although, I have the SD card contents backed on my PC with the handy map installed there. Can someone tell me how to make the already installed handymap Ai Gold on the SD card work? Does installed software on SD card generally work by just putting in the pocket PC and launching the relevant executable?

If I cannot use Handymap anymore than can you suggest me the best "free" software that I can use with malsing malaysia maps? I have read the wiki and searched the forum here and the Garmin Que seems to be the only viable option i guess (please correct me if I m wrong). Will Garmin Que work with the tom tom wired GPS device? I went to the Garmin website to download Garmin Que but there are so many different types of Garmin software in the downloads section (Garmin Mobile XT, Garmin GPS10, Garmin Mobile PC and so on...). Can any one guide me what exactly I need to download to install Garmin Que?

Would appreciate some feedback / response?

Update: I just downloaded the GPS10 based on the Wiki article here: http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... e_software

My other questions though still require response...thanks again

i need some help on my garmin que.

everything was installed and it works fine.

however everytime i restart , ( settings -> interface ) goes back to cfQUe.

i'm using a pda and have already selected GPS 10 previously.

i have also pointed to Singapore and it works fine till i restart the program and it goes back to Garmin USA.

Any pointers?

have u received the gps signal in malaysia? it could well show the location outside of malaysia, hence u can't see the map (just a guess though)
ask not (just) what malsingmaps can do for you
ask what you can do for malsingmaps (also)
