Hi I downloaded this pakistan lahore img vector map from some website the website says its for garmin but apparently the file is not in a proper format for using in garmin XT or mapsource. How do I convert it?

Are you sure the map size is just 1.4KB The file seems corrupted.

i just updated it its 4kb consist of main roads in lahore only. the writer says he will send a detailed map by request. i just want to try to convert this to work first

The file is actually 35KB, the one you uploaded is 4KB, no wonder it's corrupted.

For installation into Mapsource, rename the IMG to 8-digit name convention, and install with Mapsource Mapset Manager.

For proper use with Garmin device/software, add the IMG in SendMap20, and either directly Upload Maps to GPS or Create GMAPSUPP.IMG locally, and copy & paste GMAPSUPP.IMG over to Garmin folder of device.

it is indeed corrupted i couldnt seem to complete the download had to redo it a few times thanks!

Are you asking was this map for Mapking? If yes, the answer is no because from it extension (*.img) was for Garmin format

The map was compiled using the free cgpmapper compiler on Mapcenter2.

The source data taken from OpenStreetMaps, MapCentre, Wikimapia and GoogleEarth was redigitized. Added more POI data and enabled routing.

You can find a map containing all roads and POI or just simply the POI for Islamabad area.

You can copy the gmapsupp.img file from the Islamabad_Garmin_Map.zip file attached to this post straight to your devices as well.

Feel free to update the map and do let us know if you all see any issues with any portions of the map or any updates that need to be made.
