What about Tasmania? Any free maps out there? I have a Nokia E90 and a Windows device.

BTW the free NZ maps look great...
Yup, the NZ maps are fabulous! I had a holiday in NZ a couple of years back and didn't even need to refer to a map!

Which part of Oz are you headed to? There are some routable maps available in MapCenter2.

Have you tried downloading the free Nokia Maps into your Nokia?

Nope. tried it. Went to location. Download installer....Ran it. Looked for a .IMG file. Copied it over to my nokia /GARMINS folder. Rename it to GMAPSUPP.IMG. Ran the Nokia GARMIN and it does not seems to pick up the map.

just in case anyone interested to visit Australia with their Garmin, you might find it useful to have the speed camera, red light camera, and school zone custom POI in your Garmin. the official Garmin website is giving these custom POI for FREE (only Australia...)!!

http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/a ... D4B079C331

just go to Garmin website, select country: Australia, and look for Custom POI. haven't tried yet, just downloaded. will try out over the weekend.

p/s: i just found this site... maybe has been there for long time, so if you already knew about it, just skip my message :tq:

hi i'm goin to perth next week and will drive down to the south western part of it too! so i need both perth & the sw maps...

I've downloaded & installed the installer from mapcenter2 but when i open my mapsource it shows this message:

"There is a problem with the Family 611 installation. Please re-install Family 611 and start MapSource again."

I've re-install, re-download, etc... This message still comes out.

Is there anything i've done incorrectly? please advise! [-o<

There is probably a clash with one of the other maps you have loaded onto MapSource with the same family ID.

Unfortunately, you will have to remove one of the two mapsets.

Do you have one of my older Perth and Surrounds mapset installed which you have yet to remove before trying to install this one?

BTW - will you be using a nuvi?

Hydrophilis,

Few things:

1. How important is it that you have the WA mapset on Mapsource (ie on your PC)? If it is important, my suggestion is to uninstall all your maps and then install the WA mapset first. Then slowly reinstall the other mapsets. The Malsing mapset should not have any problem, though.

2. The Nuvi 880 is not able to do address search on my open map. If you give me an email address to send to, I will get you a version that supports Nuvi. It is also the latest version that I have yet to put up on MapCenter.

3. If you can, I would appreciate POIs and error reports on my map. If you come across any good places to visit or a nice restaurant, please send me the coordinates, address and telephone number.

Cheers!
