Re: [IMG] West Malaysia/Singapore POI Icon Map

Hello Antyong

There seem to be some issue with the V1.11 of POI Icon.

I merge the MSM229 with POI V1.11 using EzGmap 1.01.

The only customized icon I see in the Singapore map is the "Merlion" head. The rest of the customized icons are missing.

I feel this "Merlion" icon is way too big.

Back to the rest of the missing icons, I was able to resolve this issue by doing the following
on my GMXT (V4.20.50wp), Tools -> Manage My Data -> Map Sets -> Mapsource -> disable "MY/SG POI Icon v1.11 (Govt)" only, the "MY/SG POI Icon v1.11 (Com 1)" remain activated.

After doing that, I manage to get all the customize icons except for the "Merlion" head and I guess if I go to the WMalaysia map, the Malaysia Flag will be missing too.

Regards

David

My MXT 4.20.00s60.9 has no missing icon issue. Attached herewith a screenshot for your reference.

BTW, I did not merge Malsing v2.29 with POI v1.11. What I did is saved the maps in different file names, e.g.
1) Malsing v2.29 -> gmapsupp.img;
2) Malsing POI v104 -> gmapprom.img;
3) POI Icon v1.11 -> gmapsup2.img.

1) Malsing v2.29 -> gmapsupp.img;

Yes and no. This formula only workable if gmapsupp.img created with Bro antyong’s method (http://antyong.com/?page_id=79). Partial customization shall be selected during creation of gmapsupp.img. Full customization will not work here. Tested with Symbian MXT.

Yes meant you just need to replace the POI img file in your device with the new POI file release by Bro antyong. This method is workable as long as the new POI file only involve those icons which already being customized by Malsing mappers or Bro antyong.

No meant if new POI file consists of icons which yet to be customized before, then besides replacing the POI file, the gmapsupp.img need to be recreated as well with Bro antyong’s method with the new release of GM.typ and MAPSRC.typ.

Hello Antyong

The latest POIIcon112 works well with my GMXT.

Can I ask for two changes?

1) Reduce the size of the Singapore Flag

2) I notice the ICONs for DBS and POSB will only show up if the POI starts with "Dbs" and "Posb".
These ICONs will not show if the POIs starts with "DBS" and "POSB".

Thanks

David
