GPS Coordinate Format

#1 Post by et_all » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:45 am

Hai,

I just install gps tracker in car. To track the location, i need to sent sms to the device and the device will reply me with the exact current location.

My problem now is the Coordinate Format.
The device give this kind of format :- 0312.05662,N,10144.63864,E
My Garmin GPS give this format :- N3 12 03.0 E101 44 38.4

Both coordinate at same location ( plus minus ).

My problem, how to convert and what kind of coordinate my gps tracker use? Bcoz i plan to use that coordinate in my Mapsource.

Hope anyone can advise me.
Thank You

just split the values

0312.05662,N,

03 degrees 12.05662 minutes

10144.63864,E

101 degrees 44.63864 minutes

Hi, I'm using GMXT on my S60 now and was trying to scrounge for the coordinates of the location which I was in, but could not find it. Can anyone advise me on where I can locate the coordinate information please?

Thanks in advance.

Go to 'Tools', 'Where Am I', and it will show you the locations plus coordinates.
