Will this also do from Lenovo? Supposedly to be quite a tuff & rugged piece to meet any challenge... perhaps it may also withstand accidental thunderflashes hurled at it... I take it U R an instructor with the army?
This is smallish but handy for the side flaps... Asus Launches Rugged Hermes UMPC and Rugged N13i Tablet PC with Santa Rosa This Fall
Asus is entering to ruggedized laptop market with revealing its two new laptops at Computex show in Taipei. Rugged Hermes UMPC with 7" display only $700 and Rugged N13i Tablet PC with 13.3" display at price of $3000 are coming in fall to market.
WE just know that they are resistant against shock, dropping from maximum 120cm height, dust and they are water proof and splashes from all directions. Additionally, the Tablet PC is noise-resistance too.
The Hermes UMPC comes with 7" display and the backlight is selectable from a fluorescent tube or LED. Also there is option of HDD and SSD. The UMPC is powered by C7-M, a low power consumption CPU available from VIA Technologies, Inc. of Taiwan. The CPU doesn’t need fans, and it is dust proof, as well. “A card reader, GPS module and other devices attachable to the upper part of chassis are optionally available.” The Hermes will run battery for about 6 hours.
