:welcome:
I did a search at Yahoo! Singapore with "TIBO GPS"... Can get "Elecom Marketing, Southeast Asia Distributor for TiBo GPS systems"...

And answer to your question is "You can bring your TIBO down to our office for an update."

Bro williamwong1979, FYI, Tibo is incompatible with Garmin, so our maps cannot be used on it.

About 2 years ago, Onemotoring.com offer its subscriber a "special offer" price of approx. $1K for a TIBO GPSr. I was very interested but after reading its fine print : ".....Pay an annual licence fee for use of TIBO maps", I declined the "offer".
Look like you either pay for the TIBO maps or buy a new Garmin GPSr. :$gone:
I think the later options is best as far as free maps update concern.

Is this the one you have? http://www.tibogps.co.uk/
You can still use it as a MP3 player. $159 is not too heart-breaking. You probably pay that much
for parking in SG on the average month. Should have done more research before buying and never
buy on impulse. You can't go wrong with Garmin. Try the entry level Nuvis

Zeus73,

Thanks for the advice. I called Elecom already, they said can get free map from them at their office during the 1 year warranty. Still think quite a lots of headache after somtime may need to hunting up & down for the latest map or may need to pay for it. Thought can get it free from the internet.

That's the main reason why I didn't buy the TIBO.
Pay annual licence fee for maps ? Forget it. :hair:
In the long run, it is still cheaper to buy a GPSr with free maps update against buy one "cheap" on purchase price but with "annual licence fee" for maps update.
