Hi dvpro,

Need some advise from you, I saw it somewhere but can't locate it.
Can I know the postal code file name (.img) embedded in the gmapsupp.img file?

Thanks

dvpro wrote:GMAPOEM.IMG is taking up a lot of space, about 417MB of it, I wonder which map is this? Can you also list out all listed maps at Tools > Settings > Map > Map Info. And usually a map which does not have a check box next to it at Map Info (to enable/disable it) is the one named as GMAPOEM.IMG.
Hi dvpro,

From my unit, I have clicked on the following files - MFM-Garmin 091012 & MFM- POI091012, but when plug into my PC the GMAPOEM is still showing.

About 1 week ago I uploaded the software which I downloaded from the Garmin.com.sg website. Is this relevant ?

Thanks.

Enabling or disabling any map at Map Info does not remove any map from device. The only way to remove it is to remove the IMG file. Why don't you list out all maps stated at Map Info. BTW, I think MFM is the one named GMAPSUPP.IMG. If you don't need the other maps listed at Map Info, you can just remove GMAPOEM.IMG and back it up in PC.

Apparently your GMAPOEM.IMG consists of the above. And the only way to free up space is by removing GMAPOEM.IMG, and this will also remove those maps. If you need to have them reinstalled, I'd suggest you to rename GMAPOEM.IMG to GMAPSUPP.IMG and place it in \Garmin folder in a data card and insert it into the data card slot.

Hi dvpro,

Oh I see. You are really good. OK, will remove the file out, rename and then upload the downloaded file.

When you say data card, is it the same as those SD card used in digital cameras ?

Yes, as long as Nuvi is able to read it.
