Thanks
You do not need any code...

1. download the file from here http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 83#p205383
2. put the file in an SD card in the directory \garmin
3. Do read the instructions and notes in the post.

I am not absolutely sure but I think the 1250 was released before Garmin added it into their firmware a choice of Garmin Mode and Mass storage Mode. If indeed you are given a choice, choose Mass Storage.

If not given a choice as I suspect then there are 2 things you can do.

1. Download the USB drivers from Garmin and install into your PC to ensure that you PC will recognise the device when connected to the PC.

2. When you connect to the PC and the device boots up into Garmin Mode i.e. the normal navigation mode, unplug the USB cable. The Device will say external power has been lost and you are given the option to shut down or stay on.

3. Choose STAY ON then plug back the USB cable and it will go into the Mass Storage Mode and show a computer icon in the monitor.

Hi there,
I am a newbie and probably a bit stupid, but I can't seem to access any of the board links posted for newbies in the FAQ page.

Basically I am looking for maps for my old GPSMap 60CS unit I purchased in Switzerland when I was hiking there.

I saw on your FAQ page that you mention that users of these older units purchased in Europe etc. can download maps from: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 23#p153923

However, everytime I click on a link I get the message: "You are not authorised to read this forum."

What am I doing wrong?

I would like to load maps using Mapsource and was looking for maps of Singapore and Malaysia.

Thanks much for bearing with me and explaining what I am doing wrong!

Cheers
Gan

What can I say... PM the Administrator lah!

Everybody is doing this as a hobby so please do not expect perfection.

I am supposed to be a Mod so should have access to all threads as a Mod but I don't. I can only see some threads as a Forum member.

Are you logged in or still in the Log in box?

'Log in' has 2 meaning.

Logged in and no access meaning to say you have slow mo internet connection or there's a firewall that has been prohibited you to access to the site.

Log in as may i said, you totally forgot your password and need to PM the site admin as Bro. Jason said.

Odd  ... You can post this topic... so I go with No.1 meaning.... :)

Relax.... Go and drink a cup of coffee with Bro. Jason... :finga:

The pull out USB cable and plug back method works for my Nuvi 1250.
