GPS system in Japan

#1 Post by goh5560 » Thu Nov 22, 2007 2:53 pm

I have just went to japan - Hokkiado for holiday in September, a self-drive trip. I have book a Vios with a in-built GPS system. One impressive fixture about their GPS system as compare to out malsing is that is can search a place by the telephone number. May it be a hotel, resturant, tourist attraction etc. I wonder when can our malsing map do the same.

was there in October... didnt try out the search by telephone number.
Did most of the navigation by the Map Code of the places.

As for our maps, nope, we cant search by phone #... yet.

Hi have been to hokkiado for 3 time, 2 in the winter for skiing trip and recent fly and drive. this recent trip I have spend 12 day in hokkiado, I have cover almost 80% of the places. I am on free and easy. Initially I wanted to drive only for 5 days, as I do not know how easy it will be to drive in japan. But after trying it for the first 5 day, I love it and found that it is easy and very convenience, and extend it to 12 days. I will highly recommend it to my friend and other people to do it. As this enjoyment is made possible by the wonderful GPS system, it the main reason why I have join the family of malsing.
