 Now you can make your Java Phone work as real time tracker, send the Gps data to gpsgate.com server, and you can invite your family or friends to see your real time location. It's a good tool sometimes....
download the gpsgate java application here http://gpsgate.com/index.php?id=15 run the application and connect to your Gps bt reciever.
free register at gpsgate.com and then you can invite your family and friends...
have fun... =D>

:tq: Jeremaize...thats a nice sneaky method to keep track .... does this mean one first have to have an online WAP or GPRS package with the mobile Operator or just anyone can get and maintain this access at no costs whatsoever? Thanks in advance to know this for sure... :good: on tracking this feature for members.

haha...sure you have to connected to GPRS or 3G. I tried this for few months already, the cost is ok, actually the java application have a counter, you will know how many bytes sending. In malaysia, normally is 1kb=1cent. Every data cost 60-70bytes only. just for fun only... good tools actually... sometimes i will ask my friend and family to see where am i when i travel ... they can actually see where i am heading...

Another option for J2ME enabled phones is MGMaps http://www.mgmaps.com
Tracking using http://www.gmap-track.com

It can display live location on phone using online map/sat image server
like MSN, Yahoo, Google Map/Sat* etcetera.

Quite data intensive if you turn on the live map viewing but if you turn off all maps and use it for web tracking, i suppose the data charges are similar to using gpsgate. Very convenient if you have unlimited data plan.

* Google services need to be re-enabled using custom maps

Hope this is not taken as spam. Just found your forum.

If you use GpsGate Client 2.6 for Windows, Windows Mobile or Pocket PC you can use the new offline track recorder feature to buffer you GPS data and only send it to GpsGate.com (BuddyTracker or VehicleTracker) or your own GpsGate Server installation when you for example enter a WiFi hotspot, local WiFi network or ActiveSync. Helps if you want to cut down on your phone bill or if you don't have a GPRS connection.

this feature is currently not implemented in the mobile phone version.

Best regards
Markus

Your first post here. :welcome:
Perhaps the first post here from Sweden, too.
We welcome all info on GPS including GPSGate.
Anyway, do you have any site similar to Malsingmaps.com in Sweden? Or near enough to it? :-k

Hi and thank you

Never found a forum like this one from Sweden.
GpsGate.com visitors are mainly from Asia and North America. Found this forum in our site referrers.

I'll try to answer all questions about GpsGate.com services and GpsGate Client questions.

Best regards
Markus
