Garmin Internal Memory vs. SD Card

#1 Post by mrericlee » Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:42 am

Hi Guys,

I noticed whatever I put on the SD Card gets copied by itself into my Garmin. Is that true?

I am referring to my maps and also POI folder. I noticed this because I copied the red light camera POI into my SD card and it got copied into my Garmin internal memory.

Is that true?

Regards,
Eric Lee

Yes, it prompts you whether u want it to be copied to your Nuvi's main memory. I can choose not to, if u don't want it. Nothing wrong with it.

Ah! So that's why!

So next time I should just leave it on my SD Card and it should still work. Thanks buddy!

Ah, finally you got your 610 after deliberating about it here and in MCF. Hope to see contributions from you. Next, learn to use the mapsource for your future contribution in order to earn your unlock code for the latest map. Cheers! :)

Yup. This is a cool gadget so I have no qualms about buying one... just needed to know which was best.

I already have a few contributions to make... just that I am still trying to figure out how to contribute! Will read up WIKI about this. Thanks!

yeah, but isn't it irritating to get prompted everytime you switch on your nuvi?

Well, if u find it irritating, then just save it into the Nuvi's main memory and the next time u switch on the set, it won't irritate you again.
