I am using 6110N + MXT. Its can support up to 4 maps in external memory but not in internal phone memory.

These 4 maps are as below :
1) gmapbmap.img - basemap
2) gmapsupp.img - detailed map
3) gmapsup2.img - detailed map
4) gmapprom.img - detailed built-in map

The above maps all can be navigated depend on the type of map you have.

Sure or not?

If you've unrarred and installed [Mapsource] GM-MySin v2.28 Installer (Locked) (GM-MySin.rar), surely it will be installed as a Maspource maspet.

Or did you download and install [IMG] GM-MySin Jan 2008 (Free) (GM-MySin.exe) instead (which will extract GMAPSUPP.IMG in PC)? :-k

Some additional details pls. Which maps did you try to load into your Omnia - MSM 2.28 and Jerome's 3.72? How did you name the 2 maps? Someone (Taipan?) explained earlier that if you try to put these 2 locked maps in the same storage and name them as gmapsupp.img and gmapsup2.img, one map will not work.

hi all,

i'm a newbie to Garmin....have got some questions?

was wondering if i have a Garmin Malaysia/Singapore NT gmapsupp.img in the microSD card and a Malsing gmapsupp.img on the nuvi, which will be the map displayed on the nuvi?

or vice versa, garmin map on nuvi and malsing on the microSD...

does the Nuvi automatically pick Garmin Map as the main map?

or even Nuvi supports 2 different maps at the same time?

if nuvi could support multiple maps, how many is the maximum?

btw I'm using Nuvi 205..

Thanks!
Julian C.

You can have Garmin Mal/Sin map in SD card and Malsing map in set memory or vice versa and go setup/map/map info to select which one you want to use. Understand that if you leave both maps selected, the system may still work but in certain circumstances, it may crash or hang.

Garmin official maps will always be on top because the draw priority are set higher than 3rd party maps.
