hi, has anyone try to install Garmin on E71? can anyone enlighten me here? tks.
can't get my garmin work....

dun need to guess much lah....why gmxt won't work with my E71 internal gps?

am sorry i am a newbie here ... seems that i am also having problems with my e71 ... i have installed Garmin XT on my e71 but it gave the message "Could not authenticate Garmin GPS hardware." anyone could help me solve this problem?

Same here ... when i launch the Mobile XT, it brings up the splash screen with the "Garmin Mobile XT copyright 2008" words, and then goes back to the phone menu ..... software doenst launch beyond that.

I installed the latest version 4.20.

Anyone have any clue why?

Please be aware that free GMXT can only be used with Garmin hardware and not other GPSses including internal ones. For them to work with other GPS hardware, the original SD card version is required. And please no discussions on cracks and hacks here TQ.

i believe the installation is no issues on E71 unless you not follow steps...
Then, you will need to get a Garmin 10x receiver to work with GMXT in your phone.

To install GMXT into Nokia Symbian Phone goto Garmin and download the :-

- Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60
- Garmin Mobile XT Free Basemap
- Garmin Mobile XT Support Files
- Install the Symbian S60, Free Basemap and Support Files to your Nokia SD Card ( use a Card reader - faster)
- Install the SD card back to your Phone and run (usually auto run) GMXT.
- Follow on screen instructions to complete the install onto the phone.
- The Phone will search for a Garmin Bluetooth GPS receiver (namely Garmin 10x or 20x)
- Turn on your Garmin B-GPS receiver.
- When paired you are ready to navigate.

The second option:-

- Buy a Garmin City Navigator map SD Card and install into your phone.
- Run GMXT and follow on screen instructions to install into your phone.
- You have three options, use a Garmin B-GPS receiver, or other brand B-GPS receiver or the phone internal GPS.
- To select the GPS device scroll to the signal bar at the top left hand corner and select it.
- Disable the current selection and choose the GPS unit you want to pair with your phone.
- When paired you are ready to navigate.
