Thanks, dearlinda, for the tips. :tq:

I am not sure if I should it the latest driver because of the caveat Bluesoleil posts on the download page, i.e.
"But if your Bluetooth device is not licensed with this version, BlueSoleil will run with 5M DATA limitation."

Does that mean this new driver will allow a transmission of 5MBytes or 5MBits of data after that it won't work or its maximum transmission speed is 5mbps? :ko: I don't even know what BlueSoleil means by Bluetooth device not licensed - I can only assumed that if my device comes with ver 1, then it's not licensed to used another other version and thus Bluesoleil's caveat applies in my case.

Anyway, for the moment, I am stopping my attempt to get things working. Have other pressing matters (a.k.a. $$$) to attend to. Maybe next weekend I will tackle this challenge again. In the meantime, I'm just going to have fun with the Bluetooth GPSr running on Trekbuddy with my SE K510i.

I suspect the 5M means 5MByte of data received as you use it on your laptop.
There is no harm in downloading this. Go drive around for a few hours and note when it 'freezes'. Then you will know roughly 5M byte is equivalent to how many hours of use or data log. I assume it is a lot.

Good luck.

ps: damn that bluexxxxxx

Yup, the connection is finally up!!

Thanks for the suggestion to upgrade the Bluetooth driver, dearlinda. :tq: Hmmm... after this I might just pay for the licensed version instead of the evaluation version. See if there's money left after end of Oct 2007 hahahah..

Now, just need to get my missus's cooperation to drive around while I make use of my new toy.

I agree with you that 5MB should be alot by what I have exprienced so far - using the iBT-GPS Bluetooth GPSr with my SE K510i & Trekbuddy, it generates 22kb worth of gpx data for a 1hr walk on a 4.2km circuit. Assuming that it is the length of time that the data is passing through remains as the base for the data generation (i.e. 1hr = 22kb), I would say 5MB is going to last me for a long long time. =P~

Cheers
