sallehy,

You can use the supplied 3G Watcher software provided in the CD.
If you want to use the GPS, you have to upgrade the software to 3G Watcher R3.0.0.9 Build 1822

good luck
morisa.

notes:
1. in order to use the HSDPA speed, you must be within the HSDPA coverage area.
2. Always set the connection to 3G all
3. Use http://www.izzi.com.my/speedtest or http://www.speedtest.net to check your speed connection.
4. I'm using Celcom D98 Unlimited Plan and I can get up to 6Mbps connection. However, the most constant speed is always between 1.5Mbps to 2Mbps and it is good enough.
5. Rapidshare downloading is no go using Celcom :-(

Edit:
6. You can use the GPS with Garmin GMXT for PC.
7. I've tried it and it locked the GPS position in less than 5 seconds in open -space and less than 10 seconds while in car. But you might not want to use your laptop while driving alone unless you want to test it.
8. FInd the comm port that says something like "NMEA" as your GPS port in Garmin.
9. How to find it? Go to Hardware/Device Manager and expand the ports menu and you can see it from there.

As always,
good luck

No problem. You can use the GPS function with or without the sim card. It is independent of each other. You must installed the latest software so that the GPS driver will be installed accordingly.

Here are the steps to run the GPS.
1) Installed the latest software;
2) Run 3G Watcher in Modem Mode (Do not run "Software Installation Mode")
3) From the Tool menu, click "Display GPS"
4) Another small window "GPS Monitor" will be displayed right under 3G Watcher window.
5) Make sure you drag the 3G Watcher windows a bit to the the Top of the screen so you will be able to see the GPS Monitor window.
6) Inside the GPS Monitor window, you can see four(4) Clickable images from left to right.
7) You should click the big button that looks like a "play" button to start the GPS tracking or
press the "Pause" button to stop it. You must click the "play" button in order to use the GPS.
8) Start you GMXT and set the comm port to the port that has something like "NMEA" as your GPS port.
9) Voila, you can use your Laptop as GPS receiver.

Good luck and please post your findings/result for the rest of use to analyze and share.

Regards,
morisa

Edit #1.
1) You can put a malfunction/dummy sim card into the unit if you're not confident.
2) If no SIM card is slotted into the UNit, below is the warning.
2a) The 3G Watcher window will display a warning like this "No SIM inserted"
3) You can still click/run the Display GPS from the tool menu.
4) I've tried it and it works.

iddbbi,

to install map into GMPC is just like installing map into your gmxt or nuvi or other garmin products.
You have to copy the gmapsupp.img into the "Garmin" folder be it in your PC or PDA or NUVI or others.
It is a very straight forward procedure and fairly very simple; "Copy and Paste" action.

Hope the above helps,

Regards,
morisa
