My new GPS, Viliv X70

#1 Post by quaky » Sun Aug 23, 2009 11:13 pm

Finally got my Viliv X70.
It comes with a Mapking PC Registration card but I don't really like Mapking...so...

Anyway I installed mapsource, gpsproxypc n Nroute, Garmin Mobile PC. :-$
Didn't really use nroute cause the screen will blank off after sometime.

The speed is good out of the box, but after installing Anti-virus and some other software will notice a bit lag. But still very good.

Tested it routing, sound loud even at 58%. Speed very good, n BIG Screen.... :finga:
But the screen is very reflective, anyone know if changing to anti-glare type screen protector will help? :-?

One thing i find not good is the device gets quite hot, dont know if it will melt if i drive from sg to ipoh? ](*,)

Still trying to find a good place to mount the thing, trying to think of a way to get it out of the sunlight. :ko: :ko:

Guys,

What is the limitation for Garmin Mobile PC? Does it have Junction View and 3D view too like Nuvi 765?
P/S : Provide Speed Limit & Exact Coordinates for SpeedTraps & Traffic Cam Alerts, thanks

Saw in yesterdays edition of Singapore Straits Times supplement edition of "Digital Life",

The Viliv asking for $1299 for the S5 model and $1499 for the X70 model.

Distributor in Sin is McCoy iSolution, www.mccoy.com.sg.

On same ad, CitiBank has some promotion. Trying to find out details ....

Trends Mobile in Singapore is also selling the same price too. They have the original copy of Mobile PC with 20X at $150.

No JCV, 3D landmark, etc. I'd say GMPC is much like GMXT.
