Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, has been named one of the top 10 'Power Brands' by PC.COM, a Malaysian IT magazine. It was also voted ‘Best Antivirus Solution' by readers of the magazine.
The PC.COM 'Power Brand' accolade is awarded to brands that are considered top players in all categories and are a favorite with users. Candidates for the Top 10 ‘Power Brands' are selected on the basis of their market share, the growth of the brand compared to the industry as a whole, thought leadership, brand awareness, corporate citizenship and other criteria. A panel of independent judges then considers each candidate in turn before casting their votes.
According to Selva Rajan, publisher of the magazine, Kaspersky Lab's growth in the Malaysian market has been phenomenal, especially given the economic downturn during the period 2008 - 2009. "Kaspersky Lab has achieved growth and increased their market share during a time when other antivirus vendors have been struggling. They have introduced industry defining, quality products at price points that consumers are willing to pay for, even during tough times, and have succeeded in creating a high level of brand awareness, making them a natural choice to receive PC.COM's Top 10 'Power Brand' Award", said Mr. Rajan.
