Start a new thread...new heading..catchy...dedicated to the under privileged and hardcore poor.... need a good starting page befitting the topic....

I am awed and amazed and by the concerns shown & shared through all pics of people living at or under the poverty line... thanks to their insecure and power greed Govts that has caused unnecessary miserable lives of their own nation....

I believe, MalSingMaps and through their wonderful members gathered with their photographic skills, traveling and pointing out just how their nearest neighbors are sieged with hunger and living below the level that makes us all ashame of our own spendthrift standards... lets show the world with our observations and bring to light the responsibility we still have on our poor brothers and sisters living elsewhere on this planet, albeit near or far... this Forum is a good place tp start bringing world attention.

I take this opportunity to focus Civic's caption on a youth... a child who should be in school and not begging or collecting food or rubbish to survive....

I also commend Lawloh's efforts and Endura's new goals to highlight what they can commit themselves to help reflect what Singapore and Malaysia together can bring about... lets do it guys... lets remind the world somehow with your spectacular snaps and to all others who feel the same... please join in with these crusade to help many more in thinking and hopefully, it will send a strong message and multiple signals to the rest of the world, that we can do something to help our fellow stricken brothers across the borders living in poverty!!! :prayer: :prayer:

Lets get this new thread moving minds and people in places of power and with good governance to come down and do what is right....

Cruiser.

Yes u are right, that's the place. Kids are everywhere collecting bottles from people & rubbish bins. And they are selling postcards, flutes, souvenirs, drinks, cleaning temples etc. One impressing thing about these kids is that they can speak fluent & better English than any of our government offices' personnels. Some even speak Mandarin, Japanese & they learned a few Malay words from us in a blink of an eye.

Thank You bro Cruiser....you took the words right out of our mouths.

There are also many homes in Malaysia and many of them barely surviving depending
on donations or whatever they can collect. In my observations the govenment funded ones
are well taken care after, its the remote and unknown ones that we should also be caring.

Chinese New Year is just round the corner and it is also the time of the year where I make
my routine contributions to such homes, it will also be great if members out there think
of their needs also.

It will be great to start a list of such homes complete with coordinates and whether they
are privately or government funded. The age and race of the homes will also be good information
for members to visit.

Thank you Lawloh... :prayer:

If members wouldn't mind me ranting abit more... as it is by no coincidence that I usually end up in places, with people, with mindsets of varying levels and with options of a wide spectrum among the masses where I go and reach out...not intentionally but always by good faith that I come across such cries, pleas and wishes and this one yet again is another unmistakable & distinctive echo from the Far East in Asia.

We have many in the West, created and organized from a multitude of levels associated with NGOs and yet...., there is this level of skepticism and weary mistrust on those who say they want to help, YES THEY DO but only after a hefty deduction of the overhead costs and these people, so called Samaritans who poses to help the unfortunates.... they themselves DON'T spend a penny of theirs... but expects to be paid BIG TIME and a FULL salary with perks and holiday bonuses attached for "helping out"...

So ask yourself, ARE THEY really helping out or, just living off the fruits of collected donations and handouts under a legal guise that we seem to overlook unsuspectingly all along...? :ko:

I am always against pictures taken/snapped on children when said photographers exploit their skills for a Pulitzer prize or of some lesser fame & acknowledgment while the child(ren) in focus gains none of the share earned most of the time... worst still, when pictures are also used for porno or pervert ends....

One other thing about this good initiative which rose among the names I mentioned earlier is that you guys see a need to do something honorable... please focus and give/shed more of your skills to this aspect on society we are all part of.

It is evidently clear, this thread within MSM is about to focus on the youth who are mangled with poverty not of their own doing but from their immediate environment. The blame and indignation can arouse and be pointed at those responsible governing those locations, let your camera and desire to see good worthy changes in sending the message across the globe whenever you come across such cases, even if it is somewhere close to your own very neighborhood.

Let us bring in whatever effective measure possible through your lenses to address the lack on improving a child's hope and future which many Govts deliberately or unknowingly ignore and/or overlook, to realize their guilt in abandoning their own nation and folks when disregarding their own countryman's welfare rather than be involved with weapons of destruction and interfering other nations affairs....

It would be much appreciated if pictures of men, women and impoverished children displaying under nourishment of their current growth are captured through your skillful photography and posted in this Forum thread.

Please add factual details on>> Country, Province, City or State, Date and any further description surrounding the pictured person, would be a valued contribution. If you can, please protect your digital caption with your ID or logo that I have seen many have been doing which shall protect your copyrights.

Pictures of grandeur with smiles and well dressed persons or children are better avoided for posting in here as it will defeat the purpose this thread is meant for.
Any further thoughts to increase this dedication is always welcome by supporting members...

One last thing... anything that is involved with Internet drives and launching of programs albeit gracious or otherwise, is always seen as Too Good To Be True esp. when it comes off from the region of Asia... most suspiciously is when, it leads to Malaysia in particular... a sad but a true fact unfortunately.

Malaysia is a world renown hub for gross and massive Scam operations despite the fact that the Malaysian Govt is also doing its best to clamp down on the culprits involved but its still an endless chore faced. This is a stigma nonetheless but, this is a good turn somehow to overcome that global disrepute and gradually....improve and increase recognition that there are just as many who are doing excellent contributions to this world and surrounding causes. All the best to all photographers involved!!!

I shall submit a PM request to "Turbosnail" the Moderator of this Forum thread to grant this to be a Sticky... so a greater attention can be drawn from all who wish to contribute endlessly.

That is a great pointer too... from within one's own country and not letting it pass either... :good: for your efforts Endura.

Kampong folks deserve equally the same enhanced improvement in their lives as are those in the better affluent suburbs of Malaysia.

Unfortunately, Turbosnail was quick to inform me of his position being unable to make this thread a Sticky... I have promptly taken his advice to forward it to a Councilor instead and awaiting a positive feedback if not, an automated decision to clear this initiative as a Sticky.

Bro Cruiser, well said. I can see you write very well and very easily put your thoughts on paper

This year, that is, tommorrow, I am supposed to drive up with my sis-in-law from KL to a Bidor-based home, to deliver
food stuff, pampers, towels etc. Somehow we got carried away and ended up with 10 sizable cartons which was
impossible to fit into my SUV. Luckily, a good forwarding associate said that as his contribution he will delivery for free
irrespective of the crazy "balik-kampung" traffic. I will pay them a visit later and this time I will take some pictures.
You should see the leaky roof and holes in the timber boarded walls.

I will try to start compiling the various locations later once I get CNY out of my system. Funny thing though,
if you ask around not many ppl can tell you or they are aware of where such homes are located but they can
easily tell you where to eat, even though the eatery is just next door or round the corner.
