#1 Post by bernGPS » Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:24 pm

Dear all,

It has been a long while when we had our last GG in KK. As the owner of http://www.malsingmaps.com will be in Kota Kinabalu on 30th January 2012 on his way to conquer Mount Kinabalu of 1st February, I will be meeting up with him for a meal / chit chat.

You are welcome to join us. Time most likely at 7.30pm and place at Taman Selera Kampung Air N5 58 39.6 E116 04 26.7. Anyone interested?

Taiko Adil got many tasks to do on the trip.

Other than climbing Mount Kinabalu, he will also be testing out the waterproofing of his GPS at high altitude.

I like to go climb KK, the head is willing but the legs is not :(

Maybe if some KK entrepreneur provides sedan chair service such as those in China ZhangJiaJie mountain

Hi Adil and Sabah Mappers,

Wow! I would like to scale the Mount Kinabalu too one day. For now, I will just push the snow on my driveway. ](*,)

I pray that you will have a great trip and the weather will be nice and dry on Feb. 1 & 2.
-KT :)

Climbing Mt KK should be easier now; maybe got helicopter. I think they have proper "roads" with guides to lead you up.
Some 30 years ago, when I climbed up to the top with my group, it was quite hazardous even with guides
as we only have trails & footpath as the way to go up. But once you are up, wow... it's beautiful, gorgeous...
I was able to see the lights in Sandakan. Our Bros Jason and BernGPS should be able to confirm that.

As of now, I'll also stick to throwing "snow-balls" :D

this is a modern day 轿夫。。is a job i respect for life :prayer: . You can't imagine how hard it is to carry one man (lucky if he is not too heavy weight!) going up hill at even 20' to 30 degrees.. I've been to 黄山 in China, I know how steep a path can be, and there are these ppl are enjoying their life (some are not that old btw!) by paying a merely 50 ringgit perhaps for the whole journey up hill...

Yes, I heard from my brother that now the path is much nicer. However, everytime I am back in KK, I only have a limited time to spend with my father.

If you want to help, you are welcome to come and help me clear the snow. I will make sure hot coco is ready inside the house waiting for you.
