Sorry for being a noob. I just made my virgin contribution. Can I go ahead and request for an unlock code if there's no negative comments so far? I don't want to PM the mapper and end up hogging his mailbox if my contribution was outdated.

Thank you.

Lost Maps

#4 Post by rokiwolff » Wed Sep 03, 2008 9:21 pm

Garmin nuvi260 purchased in SG with preinstalled Malsingmaps. Maps appear to have been overwritten on card when loading additional Europe map. Just checking its not in a hidden file on the device. Any advice? Otherwise, which download can I access to reinstall onto the device? TX

Sorry, from what I see, you have made only one contribution so far and I don't think the mapper will give you the unlock codes. Please submit more before you put up your request. Thank you.

Please go to the download section to download the free v2.15 map. Check around and you will find the location of the download section. Thank you.

If you have not read Jerome's response, I think you should before you hit a wall of silence.

And please read the rules for contribution / unlock codes many times over. Whatever, read the whole forum through many times ago... you glean a lot of knowledge from the mistakes make by many newbies... Not to discourage you but that it never hurt to read a wiki article, past posts, past threads, many times over. I still do. I have lousy memory.

Thank you. I'm still learning how to contribute. You're right that it's always good to read/ re-read the wiki / past threads. I saw my mistake. Looking forward to contribute more. Cheers. :)

I have tried out the free maps, and contributed some POIs and errors and have since gotten access to the v2.29 maps which is super cool

My question is how do I enable track-logging or track-plotting on my GPS. I tried searching in MSM and the Garmin site, but could not find any clues...

If you are talking about tracking with your Nuvi 670, I am afraid Nuvi devises can't do that. YOu need to buy a handheld like the 60Csx, Hcx, etc. for this purpose. Thank you.
