Hi all seniors,
I have a question regarding the logos shown in my Garmin..

1. Using MSM 2011.30 - I'm seeing the logo according to the brand, like shell, petronas, the 'tiger' bank, public bank, etc. etc.

2. Using MSM NT v5.33 - I'm only seeing a generic dollar sign representing banks, and a petrol pump logo for all petrol stations..

Is this the correct way of seeing the logo using different map? Or, can I actually see the 'tiger', petronas, or those individual brand logo using NT v5.33?

Pls help clarify. thanks.

NT v5.xx doesn't have customized icon (brand icon).

Everything already in the map.

However, if you notice mistakes or changes not reflected in the map, please do let us know. :tq:

hi senior,

your link didnt show if nuvi 2565 use which files..
hope you can kindly enlighten me...

thanks in advance..

What you are referring to are the custom POIs which you can download from HERE - take your pick.

Having downloaded the custom POI that you want, the next thing is to know where to install the file.

All Nuvis are not supplied with SD cards unless you bought one with a map installed in an SD card but what is the issue of buying an SD card for less than S$10 rather than risking damaging a GPS that costs several hundred S$?

After you have bought yourself an SD card (a 2GB card is more than enough), create a \Garmin folder in the SD card and a \POI subfolder within the \Garmin folder. Then you place the custom POI file (in the form of a .gpi file) into this \Garmin\POI subfolder.

Upon booting up, you may be asked if you wish to have the POIs copied into your GPS so that the data will still be available if you remove your SD card, it is up to you to decide what to answer. Whether you answer yes or no, the custom POI should work.[/quote]

As I said, "take your pick" If you want Red Light Cameras, click on that thread or if you want Speed Traps, click on that link.

When there are several files offered for say Traffic Camera Alerts, the correct file that you should download is the WAV format for Nuvis

thanks senior..
i just paste directly into the garmin device..
didnt buy a micro sd card...
the file size is only 400kb...
i read at the download thread people get 8MB file size..
i downloaded traffic cam 300 V090829.gpi file..
i hope it works :)
there is no installation prompt...
unlike my old nuvi 610 (yes, done via SD card, back then all the traffic light and speed cam are all auto installed)...
will test and update later..
