The damage in the worst case is a useless GPS that cannot be switched on - ending its life as a paperweight or something of even less significance.

Actually, you don't have to create seperate POI folders. Just one POI folder will do and it can accomodate as many .gpi files.

Good evening members of the forum/thread. I just bought my first NUVI 2465 a week ago, and I want to load the ERP, Bus lane, Speed camera POI into the GPS. May I know which file to download that is the most accurate one. Looking forward to your help guys.

Thanks

Hi, all the alert files or GPI you looking for can be found in the Community POI Sub Forum:

http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=18

Usually the files are located in the first post of each topic. Some sellers have been known to
preload some of the gpi files into the unit prior to selling. Pls check to see what is in your
unit before loading.

To check read this: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 20#p142920

Pls note some gpi files may be outdated so pls use with caution. We also appreciate if you could feedback.

Thanks

Hi all, maybe you guys can help me out... I'm current using Nuvi 2565. Downloaded both SpeedTrap300_V090829.gpi and TrafficCam300_V090829.gpi recently. Placed both files into my Garmin/POI folder in SD card as usual. Now my problem... that's no warning sound or even "dong" when approaching any of the POI. Proximity Points alerts is enabled and audio is set to Continuous tone.
Is there something which I'm not doing right?? Please help... Thank you :)

My first questions:

From where did you download the files?

Did you download the wav version and not the mp3 version?

I also read your post at: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 91#p198591 and would advise you to try downloading again. Be careful you do not double post or you may not get any replies.

Very sorry for the double posting...
As for your first question, I download Speed Trap POI and TrafficCam POI (New Series) - Updated 29th August 2009 from the Community POIs. Both wav format..
I've even tried doing it a few time but still no warning sound?? I wonder why :-k ? :( Though it's not very important but it's good to have some kind of warning when approaching these POIs... hehe.. Pls help... thank you

What you have described seems to be the correct procedure.

Did the GPS prompt you to agree to copy the POIs into the main memory so they are still available when you are not using the SD card? If so, you should answer YES.

Since you have done everything right, only thing left to try is to do a hard reset and delete all User Data. You have to back-up your Favorites first of course.

BTW, what is your Firmware version?
