Easy ... once you have sorted out the Mapsource installation, MSM map installer and have
placed your "waypoint" (a flag symbol), you save as ... name it e.g.

hweejohn 2011-01-05 XYZ poi/tracks/etc

you'll have a hweejohn xxxxxxxx.gdb file.

Upload this file to the appropriate sub-forum.

The actual mechanism to upload the file if found in the "post a reply" page (the one you use to post
anything here). Scroll down the page until you see "upload an attachment".

Click Browse, find your gdb file. After it has loaded, click "add to file".

try first. good luck.

Is there a way for me to contribute to the Brunei map?

#159 Post by mnlow » Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:03 pm

Hi

I'm a newbie and I've downloaded the free map on my GPS and it works! Thanks to you guys.

I'm just wondering if I'm able to contribute in any way in making these maps more accurate and detail especially with the Brunei map. If so what can I do and how do I do it.

Thank you

Mel

Hi. I trust you are using MSM NT v5.06 as advised by bro Redstorm. Your contribution would be most
welcomed. But firstly, you need Mapsource. Have you installed that? Try here:

http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 477#p97477

After you install Mapsource, don't try to open it until you have installed the MSM Mapsource Installer:

http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 77#p180477

This installer is older than the MSM NT v5.06 but its the latest we have so you'll have to
live with it. But for Brunei, all the Data should be the same as v5.06

Once you have MSM on Mapsource, you can start to add your own POIs, tracks or feedback.

example:
http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 37#p184237

save a copy (as gdb) and PM it to BernGPS who is the senior mapper for Sarawak and Brunei.

You can also record your contribution in one of the topics for Brunei:

http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=33

Try installing Mapsource first. If you still have prob, come back and ask.
I'll merge this topic to
