Bro Lite83, :welcome: to MSM.

Firstly, are you referring to Garmin or Mapking? bcos you posted this Mapking Topic.

Can you give us more info regarding the map you made? Using Mapsource, you can only
produce a gdb file. To make maps, the process is a lot more detailed. You need mapedit
then you need Garmin Compiler etc etc etc.

If you your neighbourhood roads are missing from our maps, why don't you send us
the gpx or gdb file. Our Mappers will include it into MSM so you can use with no prob.

Since you already have Mapsource, I assume you have MSM v4.40 installed. If not:

After that, read this as an example:

I'll be merging this topic to "Contributing to MSM: Questions & Guide". If you cannot find back this topic,
just search Newbie Lounge.

I followed your instructions but I can't seem to get Map Source installed. I keep getting 'Previous Map Source not found, Setup will terminate'. What am I doing wrong. I've even tried doing it the other way round but still the same.

Thanks in advance

I did. In fact, I read it over and over again just to see if I missed or misunderstood a step but still the same message. I copied 'any' file and renamed it Mapsource.exe but still can't get it to install.

Hmmmm

OK lets try the conventional way. Go back to my link and click on the big Click Here
button and follow the instructions very carefully, esp the part about:
Mapsource Install.JPG
You are not suppose to open mapsource at this stage. You are suppose to download the MSM v4.40 Installer
I told you about before opening Mapsource. Wait ... you did open before installing the Installer ... :-'
go and download the installer now and try again 8-)

FYI I followed the instructions to a tee. I did not open the mapsource after downloading it. Instead I went on to download msm installer. After installing the installer then only did i try to open mapsource and that's when I get the error message. Anyway, I managed to fix the problem after doing a search on the web but then I encountered another problem with an error message that it can't find windows imaging component. After I had this, i was able to open mapsource. Now, when I get the opportunity, I will look into using mapsource.

Use Garmin mapsource, create a POI with your company name and then copy this to each of your Garmin sets.
