Newbie Guide to Junction View/3D Buildings Matters
Please discuss matters pertaining to "Junction Views" & "3D Buildings" here.
Newbie Guide to Junction View
I'm new to Garmin, got a question to ask here.
I had a 255W from Taiwan (my Taiwan friend bought for me recently), I wish to know whether can I download the Junction View function to this device?
If yes, how can I do it?
If no, why?
Thanks in advance & have a nice weekend to all!

Will MSM Ever Release Map with Lane Assist and JC?
I am going to buy a GPS and I've done a lot of research and reading.
I found out that only the localized version of Garmin 255W and 760 has Junction View but without Lane Assist.
However, the shop that sells GPS also has 765T which has both Lane Assist, Junction View and some advanced features.
Although 765T claims that it supports both LA and JV, but Garmin only allows their JV to run on the localized 255W and 760.
I felt like we're being forced to buy 2 lousy localized versions when some some people can afford to buy a more advanced unit.
Anyway my question is will MalsingMaps ever come out with Junction View and Lane Assist? If MSM won't come out with JV and LA, there is no point for me to spend more money to purchase 765T because it will only function like a normal GPS.

Hmm... Currently there's 2 type of MSM... The CGPSMAPPER and Garmin NT version...anonpiss wrote:I am going to buy a GPS and I've done a lot of research and reading.

CGPSMAPPER version does not support Lane Assist and JCV at the moment...
Garmin NT version seems to be region locked too, for JCV... Cannot confirm this because I'm having a very low end US version here...

Re: Will MSM Ever Release Map with Lane Assist and JC?
If the developer of MSM can confirm that they'll be releasing map with JV and Lane Assist, I can go ahead and purchase the 765T. I would prefer to use a higher end one to avoid the need of upgrading in future.

Re: Will MSM Ever Release Map with Lane Assist and JC?
We are doing Lane Assist trials for Klang Valley for the next NT release. I believe 255W and 760W supports Lane Assist and other Nuvi models (not all). A batch of codes have been sent to Garmin engineers for testing. Hopefully it works out ok. Will keep u guys posted.
Malsingmaps is now an official partner of Garmin to produce maps for MY, SG & Brunei.

255W supports lane assist? From the official Garmin's website, 255W states "NO" for Lane Assist.

Reading from this forum, I see that many users are confused with Lane Assist and Junction View.
I believe this is lane assist. Look at the top left of the screen with multiple arrows.

Junction view is as follow. It has a "real" image at the right hand screen.

I am definitely sure that 255W supports Junction View, but are you sure that it supports Lane Assist as well?
If a Garmin GPS has both Lane Assist and Junction View, it should look something like this.
