Your preinstalled maps should still be inside your device.
Go to MainMenu - Tools - System - Map - MapInfo and select Garmin NT map for the JCV feature. Deselect rest of maps. When searching, enable MSM NT5.4 to search and find POI.

Use only 1 active map at 1 time

Hi :welcome: to MSM.

Firstly please read my Welcome note on the first post (page 1) of this thread.
Then read the new MalsingWiki: http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

If you intend to use your GPS for hiking and outdoor rather than driving, you may like to
compare etrax Vista HCx also. Its similar in size and features to etrax20 but has an electronic
compass.

This thread is mainly to say hello, so you may want to continue asking questions in the following topic:

Looking at your activities, and the fact that you like kayaking, the 78S is suited as it is IPX7 rated which means it is waterproof and even floats in water. It is intended as a small, rugged, outdoor handheld GPS primarily aimed at hikers and climbers.
