Winrar will not unpack .rar - "CRC failed in gmapsupp.img. The file is corrupt"
Tried redownload 3 times - same result.

gmapsupp.img is the actual map file. Why would you want to unpack it?

Because 'gmapsupp.img' is in 'gmapsupp.rar'. I suppose there must have been a reason why it was rar'd originally.

Problem now is I'm sort of lost - got to find the exact place where I got the .rar.
It's supposed to some sort of overlay on msm map for topo ..
Sorry bout confusion, but I AM confused ...!!

Will come back once I find the topic and the link. Tks for response.

Edit:
Got it - The link is under the map downloads

Is it possible to move this to where I should have put it.?? Or should I post there myself..?
Tks again.

Use a download manager like fdm to download it.
This is an old file. So far no one complained the uploaded file is a corrupted.

Did you try to repair the file with WinRAR? If not, then give it a try.
> Open WinRAR
> Select corrupt RAR file
> Go to Tools > select Repair archive

> Check "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" box and click on OK.
The file will be repaired within a few seconds. Click on Close and check the file.
As you mentioned that you have tried to re-download the file 3 times and received same result, i.e. corrupt file. It seems the file there is not valid or broken. Or maybe it gets damaged while downloading. Or maybe you are having bad Internet connection. You must check your Internet connection before downloading the file. If connection is fine and still same issue persists, then you can use a third-party recovery application for corrupt RAR archives. I will recommend you SysInfoTools Archive Recovery software to repair your corrupt RAR archive. Check its demo version (freeware) before buying any other third-party recovery applications. It supports RAR as well as ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ and 7z file recovery.
Good luck.

You have given the link to MSM Outdoor Map v21.

This map has all roads and POIs removed except for rivers and terrain features. Unless your device can display DEM, you will not be able to see the DEM shading. This map is intended for use in handhelds while trekking off-road.

If you want a topo overlay to work with a road map, then download a topo map and not a DEM map.
