Thanks. I got the unlock code.

Can I teach me how to get to the gold version and when do I need to use a Patch.IMG?

I am actually helping a fred. She is having nuvi 265W.

To get the CGPSMAPPER version, please read this. Read the second post carefully.

Err... I have never use the PatchIMG before.
Don't see the need to use the software. PatchIMG is more for old garmin devices which do not use storage card.

Although, I don't think it's my ISP/cache - they don't cache, I think it's the Garmin server/infrastructure.

This is something which I don't understand too. I'm having 2 internet connections here. Both of them are not seeing the same thing of the same site.

Ok, don't cry. Try this simple methods:

1. Find out your unit ID no. and use it to request for unlock codes.
2. Copy the unlock codes n paste it into Notepad.
3. Name the notepad file as gmapsupp.unl and save it in the Garmin folder in your SD card
4. Copy the 2009.5 map and if the file name is gmapprom1.img, change it to gmapsupp.img and save it to the Garmin folder in your SD card.

You are good to go.

Er.... sorry... just one more question. The map given to me when I purchase the set is Jerorne Wee Plus V3.79. Now since this map MSM NT2009.5 is copied to my GPS, does it mean that my system now works on both map? Or I have to chose which map to use?

It’s not advisable to have both maps active. It might slow down the system.

To select which map to use, touch Tools -> Settings -> Map -> Map Info. Add or remove the check mark accordingly.
