Hi Zeus73, my start location is Blk 137 Tampines St 11 and my destination is 265A Compassvale Link. The destination is not near Compass Point... In fact, it's nearer to Hougang/Buangkok. I have "Toll Roads, U-turns, Unpaved Roads" checked for avoidance set up. BTW, just out of curiosity... can you specify your start location? I thought GMXT cannot select start point? It is based on your last GPS location?

Hmm... Using the start point and destination you have given, it does route using PIE then TPE. Even when using "Short Distance", it still route using TPE.

Yes, you can set your start point on GMXT. Read this.

Hi Zeus73, thanks for your help... I think I figure out why GMXT behaved this way... It was due to the Avoidance setup using Toll Roads. Somehow, GMXT thinks TPE is a toll road... It shouldn't be the ERP proximity POIs which I put in right? I thought that will only "ding-dong" when I am near a ERP gantry?

Hi medscy, you are correct with your assumptions. And yes Custom POI would have nothing to do with route calculation.

Hmm... Looks like you just dig out a problem with the MSM NT map.

Yap... Nothing to do with the EPR gantry POI. The map is having problem.

As for your first question, I think you can see the amount of details you want to see from least to most
and anything in between. Play around with your setting.

MSM also have "logos" if you are using the latest maps. However, different maps done by different people
will have individualistic characteristics. This also answers your second questions. Its like asking what is
the difference between TM Fixed line and Digi.

Both are GPS maps
Compiled by different companies
Maps are used in different GPS or softwares running the GPSr

I don't use Nokia Maps but I think one major difference is: (I could be wrong)
Garmin Map access is FREE i.e you just have to expose your GPSr to the open sky/satellites
Nokia maps can be used indoors if you connect thru AGPS (using data transfer between phone and
Telco (pay).

Understood and will try the settings. GPSr and AGPS terms refers to what? i know AGPS is asisted GPS which uses data charge to lock on our location. But not sure about GPSr refers to and the function.

You can download the map from here. Read the section for "Garmin User B".

I'm not sure how many maps are you currently having. You need to rename the map and UNL file accordingly, read the topic on "File Names For Maps".

Place the IMG and UNL file into the Garmin folder. Hopefully you know the storage you have used to install GMXT.

Basically, using of GPS is free. For your case, you need to ensure that AGPS feature of your phone is disabled. Please read your phone's manual.
