hello guys..i'm newbie here, hopefully all sifu and moderators could find a solutions for my nuvi255w. after updated firmware, map updater and others related software for nuvi255w malaysia/singapore model in garmin.sg websites. Once after restart, found white and blank screen appeared . i tried on/off almost 1 hour but nothing happened. also, i installed additional 4gb sd card before update. Pls advise Sifu2, your cooperation and attention is highly appreciated. :ko:

i uploaded the latest img file and replaced the older version in my SD card, there is also a JCV file, do I also add it in as I did not do so previously. Dont think my Garmin has the JCV feature though...

hi.. im newbie with nuvi 205w
using it since 4 years back
but lately want to update the maps
so many going on since my last login into the forum ~ 4 years back :P

btw, what is topo? hihihi

I just bought Garmin 2565 and have been reading the thread but getting lost here.

1) What is POI?
2) Do I need to install POI? If yes, where can I download it?
3) Is it a installation or I just copy it into Garmin SD card?
4) How do I load the AES detector so that garmin can alert me when there's a AES near me?

POI means Point(s) Of Interest.

No you don't. Just save the map file (gmapsupp.img) into you nuvi. You can download HERE

Just copy and paste into SD Card/Garmin folder.

You can copy and paste the .gpi files into POI folder in your nuvi. You can download the AES file HERE.

hi... soalan sket... recently br beli camry with panasonic DVD-AVN skali.. notice that they use garmin. im not sure is it a hardware thingy or just garmin software. the thing comes with garmin Data Card. any idea how to update the map? GPS was preloaded with MSM2011.30 map.. bengang gila.. at least bg la current map.. cant figure out wat kind of GPS is this... nuvi ke.. apa ke.. just some serial number.. even toyota pun xtau. thanx
