Hi bro,
I have install garmin on my SE P1i before, no problems, (I am guessing you are using Garmin 10x Gpsr to pair with your SE P1i)
Step 1,
Download GarminMobileXTforSymbianUIQ3.0_40180.exe from
http://hewds.tmsk.uitm.edu.my/MalSing/i ... xt/Symbian

connect your P1i with your computer in file mode,
then follow the instruction to install the software into P1i

Step 2,
Download the malsing map and install as instructed

that should do it.

Bro Kambing,

Apa in Xperia? Bitter Gourd? What are you trying to do? What have you done so far? Where did you
get the GMXT? What map you tried to use? You want all sifu to help you, you got to give them something
to work with la. Sifus here are always ready to help, given enough info.

Have you read Newbie Pitstop?

Are you referring to Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 phone? It's running Windows Mobile 6.1 so you can refer to the wiki page on how to install Garmin Mobile XT (GMXT) on a PDA phone running Windows Mobile. Below is the URL:

http://malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/G ... ows_Mobile

Note that the free version of GMXT can only use Garmin GPS 10x receiver. If you want to use the Xperia X1's internal GPS receiver, you will have to purchase the SD card version of the GMXT.

Hope this helps.

need advise [SE k800i]

#37 Post by drjoe71 » Wed Jan 28, 2009 4:48 pm

Need to get a GPS with my SE k800i. Downloaded the maps from malsing 2007 PC version. Also installed Trek Buddy but it says format not recognised when I tried to load the maps. Is Trek Buddy not synchronised with malsing maps? What should I do? Appreciate help and guidance as I'm a newbie to this. Thanks

SE phones cannot utilise applications unless there are java based ones. The only exception is the UIQ based ones like the P900 series or the P1i. Your only choice in this case would be google maps which unfortunately cannot be used with malsingmaps.

#-o  :-({|= Feeling really dissappointed. :-k Thanks for the advise though. Is google maps free? Does it have detailed GPS navigation for Malaysia? Any ideas to convert malsing maps into Java base? Thanks again. :tq:
