atah wrote:Hi all,

I've just got a local unit of 1350 and trying to upload latest maps into the unit. I've read through some of the topics here, but still a bit confused.

The unit has the following maps installed:
- Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2010.20
- City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT 2010.30

I've gone to Garmin Singapore website and downloaded the latest map:
- Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT2010.40
Q1: Is this map going to replace the Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2010.20? -Yes

I've also downloaded the V5.05 map.
Q2: Is this an additional map on top of the 2 mentioned above? - Yes
Q3: Understand that this is a latest map. But found that the file size is only about 40MB. Does it contains JV? - No. It does not have JV for time being
Q4: Shall I put this map under the \map folder? - Yes
Q5: Shall I activate all the 3 maps at the same time? - No. It will cause navigational issues during routing. Only one map should be use at one time
Q6: If I also install another map from the other site, then can I have all the 4 maps activated to cover the maximum roads and POIs? - Answered in Q5

Thanks

Hi miezarnd,

Thanks for your quick reply. Does it means that if I want to use the JV function, I must select only the 'Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT2010.40' map and uncheck all the other maps?

Or in another word, if i want to use the latest map (v5.05), I will have to forget about the JV feature?

Thanks

Yes.

Please note that NT2010.40 compiled from MSM V5.00 data. Thus it newer road after V5.00 is not available. You can see the map update log here. Currently, in MSM V5.05, we included many Lane Assist to aid you at certain junction so that you will not be in a wrong lane. (Mostly in Klang Valley)

I see. Means that the v5.05 map will have LA but no JV right? I was refering to this link and found that the v5.xx got JV?? Maybe I got it wrong?

I've downloaded the NT 2010.40 map but having problem generating the unlock code. After I keyed in the serial number, the page keeps waiting to generate the code. Is there something wrong with the server?

Thanks

255W - no new maps?

#167 Post by orionmystery » Thu Dec 16, 2010 7:03 pm

Hi everyone, mine is a 255W (Garmin User A as described in this thread: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 32#p175632). I checked on the Garmin site and was told that there was no new update ie. my maps were up to date.

However, driving around KL, it is pretty obvious that my maps were really outdated. New flyovers, new roads, detours etc...were not updated.

Can i get Garmin User B's maps? Are these more up to date?

My current map info:

Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2009.40
[1]MSM

City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia/NT 2009.31
[1]SGP_MYS_NT_TA200907_JCV 2009.31

Thanks :)

Help regarding Singapore maps

#170 Post by EugeneSWT » Sat Dec 18, 2010 10:50 am

Hi Guys,

Could someone please tell me how to swap the current map on my Garmin Nuvi 1260T to a Singaporean one? I purchased my unit in Canada and it has pre-installed maps of N America.

Any help most appreciated!

Regards,

Eugene
