Re: trouble updating maps

#181 Post by bushpilot » Mon Jan 18, 2010 1:08 pm

Still have trouble with opening the zip file.

Any suggestions on what software will do it?

I used this same computer to install the older version of the maps a couple years ago. I'm confused

updated version for map

#183 Post by Icegal » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:51 pm

Hi

I understand from a fred that we can request for the lock/gold version map and do the contribution later. I try to look all over the forum for the post teaching you the steps to request but I couldn't find it.

Can anyone out there help to tell me who should I PM or what should I do to request for lock/gold version map w/o contribution first?

Thanks

:tq: :tq: :tq:

Go to our download section via link below and follow instructions. No need for unlock codes.

However, even though maps are unlocked, we appreciate contributions of tracks / error reporting. :tq:

Can, go for the latest MSM v4.11a (for all). I believe the Nuvi 1xxx series can save maps using whatever file names
you want (instead of gmapsupp etc). So maybe name it MSMv411a.img

But remember, don't be greedy and try to activate more than 1 map of the same area. Funny things tend to
happen like having 2 steering wheel (2 drivers) in the same car.

MSM v4.xx does not come with junction view. For that, you'll have to use MSM NT series and only if your Nuvi 1xxx
is a localised unit. You will need to generate an unlock code for NT maps. Pls read the instructions very carefully at
the source of the map download page.

You may save the map in Nuvi memory (HDD) - inside "Map" folder if I am not mistaken

Err... The maps in your nuvi should be updated.

Visit Garmin Singapore for updates and unlock code.

Btw, are you currently using City Navigator or MSM NT? When using MSM NT, a MSM icon will appears during navigation.
