#1 Post by synchopat » Fri Sep 20, 2013 3:04 pm

Hi dear Experts of MSM,

I dun update my map often enuf to remember how to do it... Could you kindly indulge this noob and show me how to update my Nuvi780 (bought in the States in 2010) to the latest one?

Also, scanning around the forum threads, there seems to be diff versioin suited for different models? Which one shd I download, and how to install new ones again - was it save over old files or just add another copy and choose that?

Thanx for your patience...

Pat

=D> Thank you Redstorm, it works now. Just that the option to input postal code has disappeared.

In the past when I click on "Postal Code"it allows me to key in the postal code number, now it just displays "S'pore, S'pore" and I ahve no choice but to key in the actual address. Am I missing something?

Sorry for the trouble. But TIA for the help.

Pat

The way to use the postal code in this version of the map is slightly different.

Please have a look at first post of this Postal Code thread.

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=23297

In short, the method is..

For MSM NT 20XX.XX,
Touch Where To? -> Address -> Spell Post Code
(Note : Country must be Singapore)

Pleas try.

Er.. yes and no..

The thread is where we collected all the postal code information as POI (point of interest) submitted by users who contributed to the pool or pot (of Post Codes). :D

So the more Postal Code information submitted by users who find missing POI, it is a big help for users of our community map. :D

Some of the postal codes can be created on the PC if you know where there are on the map using the mapsource version of our map. :-$
